control[led] is to be understood more as control software than a composed piece. It can be performed by one or more performers. A video of x min length plus eight sound files of five seconds each can be preloaded or live recorded into a MaxMSP patch, which can now be played by moving the accelerometer with different speed and intensity. The focus is on the direct transfer of physical movement into multimedia control and thus critically deals with the fusion of the digital world with the human being. In specific terms, the greater the acceleration of the sensor, the faster the video is played and the shorter the sections of the sound files are looped. The smaller the acceleration of the sensor, the slower (or backwards) the video is played and the longer sections of the sound files are looped. The title of the piece alludes to the mutual influence of the digital and analog worlds and emphasizes the fluid change from being in control to being controlled.
